Welcome to our first blog!
Natural Wonders was inspired by a "Nature Play" seminar run by the WA Department of Sport and Recreation in November 2010, which highlighted the growing levels of obesity and inactivity in children today. Establishing a connection with nature can be so beneficial for children and can help them with all aspects of their lives.
After this seminar, when discussing its themes with friends I realised that many mums are of the same opinion and would love to get their kids out into nature a lot more, so that is how Natural Wonders came about.
The core group so far are three like-minded mums in Warwick who are excited about introducing new and fascinating natural experiences to our youngsters. We are lucky that there are so many beautiful places around Perth to take babies and children, where they can immerse themselves in what nature has to offer. We have been meeting up at local parks to discuss suitable locations and themes for upcoming activities. Once we have more of this worked out we can invite other families along to participate!
Yay here we are! Hope that there will be more friends ans families joining us. Let's start exploring the beauty of nature from now on. I like the theme photo, how sweet!

ReplyDeleteThis is the start of many adventures... with so many places to see and learn about, the power of 'nature play' will help our children (and parents) understand the importance of nurturing and respecting the wonderful land we live on, whilst having LOADS of fun of course.
